Admission is Open for Classes Pre-Nursery - VIII
Admission HelplineIt has been our endeavour to involve each and every kid of our school in the Arts & Theatre, therefore have two individual productions for the Junior School and Senior School.
‘Akela’ has been produced by the Chandigarh based dance company The Engine Room and associates alongside the team at St Peter’s School, Chandigarh. For their latest project, they have adapted Rudyard Kipling’s beloved The Jungle Book, bringing the forest to life in this exciting & fascinating production.
Puneet Jewandah and Kritika Sharma, directors of the Engine room, who first conceived the idea were joined in by the now London based choreographer Akshay Sharma to materialise the vision. Akshay Sharma trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in the UK and went on to work with different dance companies in England, sharing as much of this experience with the students as possible – alongside Bombay based acting coach Devyani Mehra.
A first of its kind performance in Chandigarh, truly, in terms of the scale and skilled performances by roughly 200 students of St. Peter’s School. Elaborate and mind boggling sets have been created by artist scenographer Mallika Jha Chhaba that have been under preparation for the last five months. The production features costumes designed for this unique show by Amritsar based designer Kaveri Mehra.
The real stars of the show are the students of St. Peter’s School who have been incredibly enthusiastic and have worked tirelessly to bring the show to you on Saturday, the 22nd of December, 2018, at the Tagore Theatre, at 6;00 p.m.
Finally we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the management and staff at St. Peter’s school without whom none of this would be possible.
